With Tukhachevsky still in the Army, Red Army should be a more deadly force and well prepared for the war, and they shouldn't make dumb mistake like lining up air plane so that Germany can easily shot them down on the air field.Ģ.2 The purge make almost all SU officer reluctant to take action and it hammered the Red Army fighting capality, they always trying to wait for higher order even if it is doomed, or the higher order is just stupid since Stalin just order blindly counter offensive, stand still and no retreat. Tukhachevsky is the Marshal who 1st think about Deep Operation which SU use effectively in the war later, and Zhukov is also kinda like Tukhachevsky student, and did served under Tukhachevsky. The officer Purge was very harmful to the SU fighting force:Ģ.1 The purge remove a lot of bright mind and experienced general such especially Mikhail Tukhachevsky. It was was made by Stalin, and most of his decision about SU war effort is just plain dumb and harmful to the SUĢ. My point is this decision shouldn't be too good for SUġ. The pros in officer purge is always out weight the cons in officer purge, i think we can all agree of this point in HOI3, even the AI do 100% decision in this one and there was a discussion thread here:
